DO YOU HEAR BELLS ?

The other day I slithered my way through the garden department of Kmart, and I was reminded of my strappy bells which hang from all the doors in my house. I bought them there 14 years ago for about $2.99 each.

They were a Seasonal, Christmas product and came in several different colors but I choose the gold since it meshed without making a flamboyant statement.

I didn't buy these bells for any other reason than *protection.*  I put them on all my doors and they have remained there to this day. If anyone tries to open the door from the outside, I'll hear the bells; any shaking at the door, will set them off. It will give me time to get to a phone or a gun to protect myself from the inside out.

Guests rarely notice them or comment that they hear bells even though they make a soft noise. But those who do, make a mental note to buy some for their own home.

Of course the dogs hear them from a mile away... :0)

If you have loved ones who may need a bit of protecting, think about bringing bells into their lives....

It's a very inexpensive security mechanism !!

  3. What kind of dog is Molly? My corgi who has since passed into spirit, had a very strong, deep bark and if he barked while I was on the phone, people would say "Wow, you've got a really big dog !" Of course, he was just a little bitty squirt, but his bark was huge !!! I miss him......I've been meaning to blog about him.

  7. Flum is terribly skittish...We went to all the socializing classes when she was young and as soon as she was out of the class she went back into her skittish-ness. She loves to go in the car and on walks, but she is not good walking in public areas and is always looking over her shoulder.

She has never been with anyone but me and no one has ever hurt her, so there is no real reason for it either. That's where we have to realize that dogs are people too, and they all have their own personalities or should I say personality disorders :0) (my specialty)

She cowers and hides behind furniture when Steve comes over, she will look at him and smile from afar, but only from the protection of my legs.... The other two are happy, loud and promiscuous :0) Jotter, particularily is quite a flirt.
