One of the most satisfying times of year for me, is the second half of August. First, because Summer is slowly melting away and secondly, because the Virgo organizing vibes kick in. It's time to put the house in order, time to prepare our lives and our future for something new.
The driveway is sitting pretty with a new layer of gravel along with the front courtyard and the backyard. The trees are singing in light of a funky new haircut, and the birds can now easily see the bird feeders.
The garage has been swept spanking clean and although it's a colossal mess, I can find everything quickly. Another day of puttering around out there and we'll both feel better.
Fifteen bags of wood pellets have been purchased and stacked. After carefully vacuuming out the stove, I fired it up in anticipation of warm cozy rooms and cold starry nights. I love the smell of pinon smoking and secretly lingering throughout the neighborhood.
I adore slipping into my ocelot, fleece robe and sipping hot chocolate on the patio while the Sun rises in the east... The crows sit a bit too close on the coyote fence in hopes of leftover crust or poppy-seed bagel bits. They're the plumpest murder of crows I've ever known. I consider them, my own.
I'm ready, I'm waiting and I'm listening for the first leaf to turn golden red. There's a bit of squealing, but it really doesn't hurt them. Leafing is a great deal of fun for everyone..
Now that is the coolest house I have ever seen. There is no sign of autumn in the air here yet but I know its not far away, it`ll be nice to be able to sit on the back deck and not listen to the roar of the a/c unit. I do miss my warm fleece tops they are all hanging neatly in the closet, we don`t get much wood smoke smell here in the city. Good luck with the garage. :o)
ReplyDeleteI could live in this house so easily....I think the dogs would love it too !!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell how is the garage coming along?
ReplyDeleteThe fun thing about working in the garage, is that all the neighbors see you and stop over to chat...I have more conversations in my gargage than I do on the phone.
ReplyDeleteI did manage to clean out old boxes of nothing and put a few things in order. I really need a bigger garage, but I make do with a small one... Actually, I'm thrilled to have a garage to mess up !!!!
Dougie, would you think about coming to help?
Vertex I would be in my element being in a garage or man cave as they are referred to here by some. lol Don`t forget rule of thumb Vertex, if you haven`t used it in two years then out it goes. :o)
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed... I have used that rule on my
ReplyDeleteX-husbands...and out they went !!!! LOL
Uh oh I don`t have long now I guess then you`ll be chucking me out.........oh wait I`m not your hubby. There maybe hope after all. :o)
ReplyDeleteI usually don't throw out musicians or medical doctors.....but that rule hasn't held up over the years.... You are lucky that we are not married. I'm allergic to bullshit as are many women these days....I can smell it a mile away, a country away...
ReplyDeleteSo, there is hope indeed !!!!!
Thanks Vertex I don`t do BS take me as I am or don`t take me at all. But I do do cleaning. lol
ReplyDeleteThat's right !!!! You have the cleanest house this side of Jupiter !!!!
ReplyDeleteOnce I get my replacement windows in, you can clean them if you get the urge !!!!!! We can be a couple of *white tornadoes.*
Well its not that clean, but I do like order. Now I hope you have those boxes in the corner of the garage stacked safely. Largest to smallest. :o)
ReplyDeleteHEHEHE.....What's funny about that is that we now have to *tell* people to stack largest to smallest because they can't figure that out on their own....actually, it's more sad than we think...isn't it?
ReplyDeleteCommon sense has gone by the way side.... :0(
Hasn't it?
Yes its very sad Vertex, now maybe there is something you could blog about. Common sense where has it gone?
ReplyDelete*gets broom*
That's a good idea dougie, I can bore them with common sense !!!
ReplyDelete...about that broom, I just use mine for transportation !!!! :0)
Wait a minute! Was that you I saw over my house last night while I was in the yard watching the moon come up? Please don`t tell anyone what you saw. :o)
ReplyDeleteYuppers !!!....we twitches don't disclose most of what we see....but we have a good laugh all on our own time !!!
ReplyDelete....and the toads don't tell either !!!
Fly me to the Moon, baby !!!!
(Oh, and BTW, we astrologers always capitalize *Moon* and any other planet or point. At least the smart ones do :0)
I not being an astrologer did not know this but will remember it the next time I type Moon. :-p Now twitches I have not heard this term used before. It sounds like an affliction to me. lol
ReplyDeleteLOL... well, you are correct in your assessment, it is certainly an ailment of the noblest cause....
ReplyDeleteIt comes and goes as they all do...it helps to have Q-tips on hand....
It's a twitch of a different color, it is....
Do you have a colour or can`t settle on one? I wonder if I have a colour? I do like green. :o)
ReplyDeleteDougie, what is your Ascendant? I need to know what time of day you were born for that...Send me you birth info on yuku when it comes back up and I can look it up for you.
ReplyDeleteMy natal Sag ASC gives me lots of purple shades. People associate me with purple because of that. I have people who always mention how great I look in pink, and red too.
But My ASC has just moved into Aquarius, so I have a love of Teal and Aqua now...I also love Autumn colors, but mostly orange and red.
It's sort of like animals, I just love them all. If push came to shove, I'd have to go with purple because that is my natal AScendant... :0)
Even though my house is purple and green, people will walk in and say *purple. It's what they see......
Kiwi I have absolutely no idea what time I was born or hatched. August 2nd 1952 is my B-Date. If I had a guess I would say I am a blue colour, but thats just a guess. :o)
ReplyDeleteI'll have a look at your chart but my intuitive tells me you have a Cancer ASCendant. The reason I say this is because when we were trying to guess your Astrological sign, I kept hearing *Cancer*...I also kept hearing Leo, but the *Cancer* vibe kept over-riding it.
ReplyDeleteWith me, I usually see the ASC and so I believe that your 1st house cusp or ASC is ruled by Cancer. This would hold true for you being a chef......and that you said you like the color green... (of course, I could be wrong :0)
I'm cleaning today, your favorite thing....care to join me? I've done the mopping, now I have to dust and vacuum !!!!!
Ps. What city were you born in?
ReplyDeleteI`ll do the vacuuming. :o)
ReplyDeleteI was born in Hamilton, Ontario Canada.
My daughter is a Cancer and she means so very much to me, you think that could be what you are seeing?
I just rectified a chart for you which puts your Sag Moon on the 6th house cusp. Remember I told you that you must have lots of planets in Virgo? Well, it turns out you have none in Virgo, but your Moon in the House of Virgo explains it also.
ReplyDeleteNow, I need to know about your birth. Before I pulled your chart, I was told to ask you about your birth. Was there anything unusual about your birth? We you born on an airplane or in a taxi or under unusual circumstances?
Also, if your daughter's Sun in on your Asc or in your first house, there would be a special bond. My Father's Sun is smack on my ASC and my North Node. We adored each other and we had special mystical things between us which I did not share with the rest of the family.
My daughter was born the 24th of June 1978 and she was born at 3pm through a C-section and I watched. :o)
ReplyDeleteOk, so you did have an unusual birth...everything fit as I was told it would.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy you got to witness the birth. It is exciting, isn't it? Did she come out wearing any clothes? Sometimes they already have those sweatband things on their heads...
What city was she born in?
Ah no clothes, naked as a Jay bird.
ReplyDeleteSame city as me.
