Tar and Feather me......
In my ripe-ness, I would run up and down the moving baggage belt in 4 inch heels. Perfectly balanced and with great pride, I would hear the remarks and awe of people watching my unusual talent. Even the Qantas Crew admired my choreographed movement. My workmates and I wore skinny heels back then and none of us ever tripped or lost our grace.....we never felt the tar on our face. There were times we ran to the gates at lightning speed, only to be met by laughter, delight and even more praise for our prowess.
This morning I slipped into my high arch orthopedics and out the door we flew. By the time we reached the mailbox, I had tripped over a rut in the driveway, but caught my balance at the last moment as my neighbor watched on in disbelief. As usual, the dogs just rolled their eyes in embarrassment and they hoped it wouldn't disturb the anticipation for the rest of the walk. At the end of my road, my right foot was smarting so I held on to the Stop sign as I took my foot out and wiggled it around. A murder of crows sat on the fence and howled in laughter, and then as crows do, they mimicked me.
