One of the toughest things to correct is adrenal fatigue, that is, if you don't supplement with cortisol during the morning and early afternoon. Small doses of cortisol give the adrenals the boost which they desperately need. Cortisol should not be taken after 1:00 PM in the afternoon.
The adrenals naturally repair themselves from 11:00 PM to 1:00 AM so being in bed at 10 PM with lights out is the best route to follow. If your cortisol levels are high at night, this is typical adrenal deficiency behavior. Cortisol levels should be at their peak upon *waking* and slowly reduce throughout the day.....they should be *lowest* at night, so you can fall asleep. If your levels are high at night, you won't be able to fall asleep. There are several remedies to help bring down cortisol levels at night.
The basic adrenal deficiency has you very tired upon waking, you drag through the day and you *wake up* and have energy late at night when you should be asleep. If you're aware of this behavior, than healing those adrenals is the only way to get your natural rhythm back.
If the adrenals aren't working properly, nothing else in you system will work correctly. Adrenals first, everything else second.
